Tomato Ketchup -GF/V
Once you’ve tried this homemade version you’ll never buy shop bought ketchup again. It’s perfect for kids who won’t eat food without ketchup!
- 4 onions chopped
- 250g chopped celery
- 4 garlic cloves chopped
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- 2kg ripe tomatoes chopped (or canned tomatoes if not in season)
- 1 tsp each ground allspice, cinnamon, black pepper, chilli powder
- 2 tsp celery salt
- 3 tbsp tomato puree
- 200ml apple cider vinegar
- 150g SugaVida
Heat the oil in a large saucepan, add chopped onions and celery and sweat for 10-15 minutes, then add garlic cloves and cook a further 5 minutes. Add rest of the ingredients and simmer for 1 hour until the tomatoes are cooked.
Blend all the ingredients, cool, and refrigerate in sterilised jars. This ketchup will keep for up to 3 months in the fridge.
